1. Registrations and accreditations

For security reasons, all attendants must be registered and accredited to access the meeting venue. An accreditation desk will be easily found at the hall.

Participants will be able to collect their badges when arriving at Bizkaia Aretoa. All badges are strictly personal and non-transferable.

If you mislead or lose your badge, please report it immediately to the meeting organizers or contact the Accreditation desk.

3. Welcome kit

A welcome kit will be provided along with the badge. This kit contains:

· Your personal badge.

· The II Conference ending gender-based violence in Academia brochure, which includes the programme and useful information.

· A gastronomic gift, including Spanish olive oil, honey and bread.


4. Meeting venue and facilities

The conferences will be held at Bizkaia Aretoa, University of the Basque Country. You can check the location here. 

· Information desk: it will be open during the event for any requirement you might have.
· Internet/Wi-Fi: Wireless internet access is available throughout the meeting venue.


5. Transportation

The airport is a 15-20 minute drive from the meeting venue, and the train station is a 7 minute drive or a 20 minute walk. You can easily find taxis in both airport and train station.

Bilbao also has an extensive public transportation network.

· Public shuttle bus: A3247 – BILBAO – AIREPORTUA/AEROPUERTO. Shuttle price: 3€

6. Accommodation

There are many hotels, apartments, B&B in the city. A couple of options are:

· You Hotel Miró. The hotel is a three-minute walk from the venue (220 meters). The average cost is 150€ (individual room) per night. LINK.

· Hotel Ilunion San Mamés. Around 22 minutes walk to the venue. Average cost 110€ (individual room).  LINK.

· Gran Hotel Domine Bilbao. Six minutes walk to the venue. Average cost:176€. LINK.


7. General information

· Health: For emergencies, there is a public hospital, Hospital Universitario Basurto, which is 3 km. away from the venue. The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is needed. How to use the card. 
· Currency: the official currency of Spain is the Euro (EUR).

· Banks and credit cards: most banks are open from Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 14.00. Almost all banks have ATMs that accept foreign bank cards (look for the Bankomat sign). It is best to contact the issuing bank before departure to check whether your bank card is valid in Spain. American Express, Mastercard and Visa are widely accepted in Spain.· Weather conditions: With an average high of 67°F (19°C) and a low of 54°F (12°C), it generally feels mildly cool with a gentle breeze. By the end of October Bilbao is quite rainy. With that in mind, most people would dress in something moderately warm, a raincoat or umbrella. We recommend checking the weather forecast prior to your trip.
